拼音是帮助大家学习中文的重要工具，主要由声母、韵母和声调构成。声母位于音节前段，大多是辅音，发音轻短，像b、p、m、f 等。韵母则在音节后段，发音响亮，能单独构成音节，也可跟声母组合，像a、o、e、ai、ei、ao这些。而声调有四种，分别是阴平（第一声，ā）、阳平（第二声，á ）、上声（第三声，ǎ ）、去声（第四声，à ），它能改变字的读音和意思。

สุขสันต์วันสงกรานต์!! (sùk-săn-wan-sŏng-graan) Happy Songkran, everyone!! Welcome back to Thai T-la-nid podcast. This is episode no.7! 

Songkran (is pronounced as sǒng-graan) is Thai new year, also known as a water festival. It’s a very big holiday in Thailand. We usually have 3-5 days off. People go back to their hometown, visit family and friends and celebrate Songkran together.

So, this is the time of joy and all good things. Let’s see how we celebrate and learn some Thai phrases.

1. สุขสันต์วันสงกรานต์! (sùk-săn-wan-sŏng-graan) = Happy Songkran Day!

สุขสันต์ (sùk-săn) = happy 
วัน (wan) = day
สงกรานต์ (sŏng-graan) = Songkran


2. เล่นน้ำ (lên-náam) = to play in the water
เล่น (lên) = to play
น้ำ (náam) = water

Songkran is during the middle of April which is very hot in Thailand. Playing in the water or joining in the water fight keeps us cool. 
 

ไปเล่นน้ำกัน (bpai lên náam gan) = Let’s play in the water/ join in water fight.


3. ประแป้ง (bprà-bpâeng) = to pat check with powder
ประ (bprà) = to pat/patch/paste
แป้ง (bpâeng) = powder/flour 

ขอประแป้งหน่อยได้ไหมครับ/คะ (kǒr bprà-bpâeng nòi dâaa mái kráp/ká) = Can I pat your cheeks with powder?


4. ฉลองกับครอบครัว (chà-lŏng gàp krôp-kruua) = to celebrate with family

ฉลอง (chà-lŏng) = to celebrate 
กับ (gàp) = with
ครอบครัว (krôp-kruua) = family 


5. สงกรานต์สนุกมาก (sŏng-graan sà-nùk mâak) = Songkran is ver fun.

สนุก (sà-nùk) = fun
มาก (mâak) = very

343法则
        自我肯定感低的人会没有自信，害怕被别人嫌弃，因此他们总会让自己必须做好一切事，认为自己应该让所有人都喜欢，这让他们非常痛苦。
        在这种情况下，有一种方法可以让自我肯定感低的人变得快乐起来，那就是“343法则”。就是说10个人当中喜欢你的人有3个，不喜欢也不讨厌你的人有4个，不喜欢你的人有3个，也就是说喜欢你和不喜欢也不讨厌你的人一共有7个。
        被所有人喜欢只是一种幻想，不被大家喜欢是很正常的事情。当你对人际关系感到烦恼，想要被人喜欢而觉得非常疲惫时，就想一下“343法则”吧。

If you’ve listened to my previous podcasts, you’ll know that want to score a band score 7 in your IELTS Speaking exam, you have to use some less common idiomatic expressions.

We all know the idiom ‘it’s raining cats and dogs’ because this is a common idiom. But what are some less common idioms?

This podcast will give you 3 more idioms for you to learn, which you can use in your IELTS Speaking exam.

Preparing for exams can be a double-edged sword. This is because examiners don’t want you to memorise and repeat your answers from memory. However, using idioms can get you a higher band score. So how do we balance this? Idioms have to be memorised, because they have to be spoken exactly. We cannot change them. For example, you cannot say ‘my parents punched the roof’, you have to say my parents ‘hit the roof.’

Another tip for using idioms is not to put all your eggs in one basket. Make sure you are armed with a variety of different idioms in your memory bank. If you only know one idiom, for example ‘think outside the box’ you have to hope your part 2 speaking exam is a suitable topic for the idiom.

You can, of course, use idioms in parts  1 and 3, but part 2 is the easiest place to slot in a few idioms, because you have 1 minute to prepare.
