في هذه الحلقة…
لن نحكي عن مدينةٍ كاملة،
بل عن زهرةٍ صغيرة…
لكنها تحمل روح مدينة.

إنها ياسمينة دمشق.

في دمشق القديمة، لا تحتاج أن تبحث عن الياسمين…
هو الذي يجدك.
يتدلّى من شرفات البيوت،
يزحف على الجدران الحجرية،
ويطلّ عليك بهدوء، كأنه يعرفك منذ زمن.

في الصباح الباكر،
تفتح النوافذ الخشبية القديمة،
وتدخل رائحة الياسمين قبل الضوء.
رائحةٌ خفيفة،
لكنها تبقى في القلب طويلًا.

كانت البيوت الدمشقية تُبنى حول باحة داخلية،
وفي وسطها نافورة ماء،
وشجرة ياسمين.
تكبر الشجرة مع العائلة،
تشهد ضحكات الأطفال،
وأحاديث المساء،
وصمت الليالي الطويلة.

يقول أهل دمشق:
“البيت بلا ياسمين… بيت بلا روح.”

الياسمين ليس للزينة فقط.
هو ذاكرة.
هو علامة على الصبر.
يبقى أخضر في الحرّ،
ويصمد في البرد،
ويعود كل ربيع…
كأنه يقول:
أنا هنا… مهما تغيّر الزمن.

في ليالي دمشق،
عندما يهدأ الشارع،
وتسكن الأصوات،
تفوح رائحة الياسمين أكثر.
كأنها تحكي حكايات البيوت القديمة،
وحكايات من مرّوا من هنا،
ثم غابوا… وبقي الأثر.

لهذا، عندما يبتعد الدمشقي عن مدينته،
لا يشتاق إلى الشوارع أولًا،
بل يشتاق إلى رائحة الياسمين.

ياسمينة دمشق ليست زهرةً عادية…
إنها وعد.
أن الجمال لا يموت،
وأن الذاكرة أقوى من الغياب.

おはようございます。日本語だんだんポットキャストのゆかりです。

私はいま、日本を出て海外旅行をしています。

駅(えき)やお店(みせ)にいると、
両替(りょうがえ)をしてほしいと、おねがいをする人がいます。

お店の人は、両替をしてあげます。

私は両替ができることに、すこしおどろきました。

なぜなら、日本では、お店で両替できません。

両替とは、お金をかえることです。

大きいお金から、小さいお金にかえます。

小さいお金から、大きいお金にかえます。

これを両替といいます。

「1万円(いちまんえん)を千円札(せんえんさつ)10枚に両替します。」

「すみません、これを両替してもらえますか？」

といいます。

じつは、日本では両替はことわられることがおおいです。

「両替してもらえますか？」

「申し訳ありませんが、両替はできません。」

ということです。

お店では、両替はできません。

お店によっては、大丈夫(だいじょうぶ)なところもあります。

でも、マクドナルドやスターバックスなど、
大きいところはたぶん、両替できません。

では、小さいお金がほしいときは、
どうしましょうか。

私はコンビニなどで、おかしや、コーヒーを買って、
大きいお金ではらいます。

ほかの国にいると、気づくことがたくさんあります。

みなさんの国ではどうですか？

お店で、両替はできますか？

Welcome back to another episode of Streetwise English. I'm your host, Carl. I'm an italki American English tutor. Today I want to talk about technical aids for learning languages. And specifically, I want to talk about headphones. So one of the most important things for improving your fluency in any foreign language is to listen to content in that target language.
So for me, I'm currently studying Spanish and trying to maintain my Chinese, so I don't forget it. So what I like to do every day is listen to podcasts. Now you can listen while you're doing other activities like washing your clothes or washing the dishes or exercising at the gym. You can listen to podcasts while you're on the treadmill. 

But the problem is headphones can smash your ears and make your ears uncomfortable. So what I like to do is use bone conduction headphones or earphones. It's a type of headphone that doesn't actually cover your ear canal. It goes in front of your ear and kind of sits on your face. Um, kind of behind your sideburns if you're a man, right in front of your ear and the sound transmits a vibration that goes into your skull and into your ear and your brain can hear the sound just from the vibrations going through your bones. And so they are called bone conduction headphones. I swear by them. And I use them every day. I have a pair which is charged with a USB C port.

So there are many different kinds of options on the market, but I like the ones that use a USB C port to charge them because I don't have to worry about losing the appropriate proprietary charging cord. Instead, I can just use any USB C charging cord to power up the headphones. 

So another advantage of using bone conduction headphones is that while you're wearing them, you can hear sounds outside of the content that you're listening to.
So for example, say, I'm running, I'm jogging and listening to my podcast which is in Chinese while I'm jogging. ( Text limit )
