說明
Older children do not want a picture alphabet. They want to say something real to a real person and be understood. Track two is for learners of roughly nine to thirteen, with a short word for the grown-up first. Every line is something a child can actually say to a grandparent, cousin or family friend: name and age (and why Malayalam says 'to me there are ten years'), school class, a day from morning to night with one ending, things they like with ഇഷ്ടമാണ്, helping at home, question words, the weather, buying something at a shop, good manners, and a little story to say along with. Words and phrases in this class: എനിക്ക് പത്ത് വയസ്സ് (enikku pathu vayassu) – I am ten years old ഞാൻ അഞ്ചാം ക്ലാസിൽ പഠിക്കുന്നു (njaan anchaam classil padikkunnu) – I study in class five ഞാൻ രാവിലെ എഴുന്നേൽക്കും (njaan raavile ezhunnelkkum) – I wake up in the morning ഞാൻ സ്കൂളിൽ പോകും (njaan schoolil pokum) – I go to school എനിക്ക് വായിക്കാൻ ഇഷ്ടമാണ് (enikku vaayikkaan ishtamaanu) – I like to read എനിക്ക് പാട്ട് ഇഷ്ടമാണ് (enikku paattu ishtamaanu) – I like songs ഞാൻ അമ്മയെ സഹായിക്കും (njaan ammaye sahaayikkum) – I will help Mother ഞാൻ മുറി വൃത്തിയാക്കും (njaan muri vruthiyaakkum) – I will clean my room എവിടെ പോകുന്നു? (evide pokunnu?) – where are you going? ഇന്ന് മഴയുണ്ട് (innu mazhayundu) – it's raining today ഇതിന് എത്ര? (ithinu ethra?) – how much is this? ക്ഷമിക്കണം (kshamikkanam) – sorry, excuse me സാരമില്ല (saaramilla) – it's okay, never mind In this class: • Who you are: name, age and school class • Your day with one ending, and what you like with ഇഷ്ടമാണ് • Helping at home, question words and the weather • Shop sentences, good manners and a short story Quizzes below.
