不过：连词，用在后一分句的开头，表示转折，对前一分句的意思做补充、修正。
例如：我本来想当医生，不过我发现自己更喜欢教汉语。
不过：也可以做副词，表示“仅仅”，强调比较少、比较小。
“不过”在委婉地提出意见或表示拒绝时常用, 多用于口语；而“但是”表达转折的语气更重一些。
