Today was a very busy day. First, the train was delayed in the morning and I was going to be late, so I ran to school. There was a test as soon as I arrived. But I forgot most of what I studied after running, so my score wasn’t very good. Even after I got home, I had to do an assignment about the power consumption of home appliances. It was difficult and very time-consuming.
Improved Version: --- Today was a really busy day. First, the train was delayed, so I had to run to school to avoid being late. There was a test right after I arrived, but I couldn’t remember much because of the rush, so I didn’t do very well. Even after I got home, I had a hard assignment about how much electricity home appliances use. It took a long time and wasn’t easy.--- Short Explanations: 1. “It was a test” → “There was a test” Natural way to introduce an event that happened. 2. “I forgot most of it” → “I forgot most of what I studied” “It” is unclear—be specific. 3. “score was not so good” → “score wasn’t very good” “Not so good” is okay but “wasn’t very good” is smoother. 4. “did an assignment to find out…” → “had to do an assignment about…” “Had to do” fits better with effort and obligation. 5. “very time consuming” → “very time-consuming” Needs a hyphen when used as an adjective.
