Too or Either
A: I don’t like chocolate.
B: I don’t like chocolate too.
OR
A: I don’t like chocolate.
B: I don’t like chocolate either.
While I’m sure we can all agree that A and B are both wrong for not liking chocolate (🍫 😋), which response is correct? Should B have used “too” or “either”?
When we are agreeing with a positive sentence, we use the word ”too”.
For example:
A: I like chocolate.
B: I like chocolate, too.
(finally, some normal people 🍫 😉)
However, “either” is used to show agreement with a negative sentence.
So the correct answer is:
A: I don’t like chocolate.
B: I don’t like chocolate either. ✅✅✅
Is this something that you struggle with? Write some example sentences using “too” or “either” in the comments below and I’ll take a look at them for you!
