Hello everyone of native English speakers.Sorry to disturb you to help me about the different prepositions to be used for different phrases with the same meaning. Such as these phrases are, they are planning to turn my mind into chaos. 1. music that is pleasant to the air. 2. music that pleases to the air. 3. music that pleases the air. 4. music that the ear is pleasant to. 5. music that the ear is pleasant with. 6. music that the ear pleases. 7 music that human ear is glad to listen to. 8. music that the ear is pleasant to hear. 9. music that makes the ear be pleasant. 10. music that makes the ear happy. 11. music the ear is pleasant to select. Question: Which is/are grammatically correct? Do they all have the same meaning? If only you were to correct any errors of my writing!

Jonathan's answer is good. So I will do something different. I will rewrite your sentences, in minimal ways, to make them all correct, keeping them all unique. But beat in mind, being grammatically correct is not the same as being natural. Only number 1 is commonly said. Most of them sound weird even after they're corrected. 1. music that is pleasant to the ear. 2. music that is pleasing to the ear. 3. music that pleases the ear. 4. music that the ear is pleased by. 5. music that the ear is pleased with. 6. music that makes the ear pleased. 7 music the human ear is glad to listen to. 8. music that the ear finds pleasant to hear. 9. music that makes the ear feel pleased. 10. music that makes the ear happy. 11. music the ear is pleased to hear.

One you missed, 'pleasing to the ear' is a fairly common way of describing music. e.g. Debussy's first Arabesque is quite accessible and pleasing to the ear.

"ear", not "air" 1. OK, "pleasant to the ear" 2. OK. There is no direct object. "Music that pleases (to the ear)" 3. OK 4. NO. The music is pleasant. The ear is not pleasant 5. NO. The ear is not "pleasant". 6. NO. It is the music, not the ear, that pleases. 7. Acceptable in a poetic way. 8. NO. The ear is not "pleasant". Instead, "to the ear", and omit "to hear". 9. No. Ears are not pleasant. 10. Acceptable in a poetic way. 11. No. Ears don't select. Ears are pleased, not "pleasant".
