I'd like to talk about one of my friends who can speak Chinese well. She was my English teacher and she was born in America, California. She was studying at Fudan university as an exchange student majoring in education.
When I was in graduate school, I signed up for an online English class. I chose an English teacher who was bilingual so that she could help me when I spoke incorrectly or didn't not know how to say something; I would speak Chinese in those situations, and the teacher would understand me and correct my grammatical mistakes. We became very familiar with each other after I took sixty more of her classes, so I invited her to meet me in person. I took her to some famous places like the Bund, which is a renowned attraction in Shanghai. We went to the top of the tower to see the best view at night and we also tried Chinese dumplings. I bought some local snacks for her.
Currently, we still keep in touch with each with each other on Wechat, even though she has gone back to America.
Thank you very much in advance.
