Sì, ricordati che finesettimana o fine settimana è maschile perché riprende l'inglese: siccome weekend è maschile, usiamo il maschile anche qui.

Io non sono una purista della forma, quindi non so dirti quale è formalmente la più corretta. Semplicemente gli italiani potrebbero scrivere entrambe le forme.
