In what case you use "at weekends" and "on weekends"? Before, I thought only "on" was the correct preposition! : (

British - at US - on

I use AT the weekend usually, but am happy to say ON the weekend occasionally. To me the weekend is AT the end of the (working week) so it has that AT feel. But I agree the weekend is ON Saturday and ON Sunday - so there is a logic to ON too!

Both are ok to use, I am British and I say both :)

As others have said, it's interchangeable in every day speech. AT the weekend has roots in British English while ON the weekend has roots in American English.

It's allegedly OK to use Americanisms in order to diminish the English language on every occasion. See what did? Discuss.
