Is there any common rules of years expression in speaking? For example: 2024 --- twenty twenty-four / two thousands and twenty-four 2004 --- two thousands and four 1900 --- one thousand and nine hundreds/ nineteen zero zero 1904 --- nineteen and four

Thankfully, it's fairly easy and standard. We pretty much read the numbers, generally grouped as hundreds. Unless it's an even hundred year increment, we usually dont say the 'hundred' or 'thousand' part. For years ending in 01-09 we say 'oh' before the last number. For years ending in 00, we just say it as whatever the first numbers are + hundred, or if it's an even thousand, then we say 'thousand.' 1904: nineteen oh-four 1887: eighteen eight-seven 1800: eighteen hundred 750: seven fifty 2000-2009: here we use thousand, so the year two thousand or the year two thousand and nine. 2010: twenty ten 2024: twenty twenty-four

Please note that whether you’re talking about a year or not, we never say “two thousands”, but rather “two thousand”. Words like hundred, thousand, etc. are only pluralized when we are speaking in general, without a specific number. For example: “This building is hundreds of years old” or “There were thousands of people at the parade”. If you have a specific number, remove the s! “This building is two hundred years old” or “There were five thousand people at the parade”.

Here’s how we say it in the US: 2024 - twenty twenty four 2004 - two thousand four (or two thousand and four) 1900 - nineteen hundred 1904 - nineteen “O” four
