Hi Yvette,
Firstly, great job for writing in English! There are lots of speaking activities you can use to practise by yourself and build confidence. Here is one technique you can use:
1. Choose a topic and write 3 key points.
(E.g. TOPIC: Favourite food
- I love ramen.
- I usually eat them in a restaurant.
- First time was in Japan.)
2. Set a timer for 1 minute and speak on that topic. The aim is to mention the 3 key points. (Don't worry about mistakes or perfect vocab, the aim is just to speak without stopping.)
3. If there were some words you wanted to use while speaking, but didn't know them, use a translator or dictionary.
4. Repeat the same topic for 1 minute and include any of the words or phrases you found in step 3.
5. Repeat again but this time for 45 seconds. Try to include all the key points.
6. Repeat again in 30 seconds!
This is a really good exercise for building fluency and confidence and can also help you see where there are gaps in your vocab. If you want any more help, feel free to drop me a message.
