The story I want to tell is about the culture revolution(about the changing cultural values) among different Chinese
generations. Being willing to sacrifice and dedicate to our country is always
one of the core values in Chinese traditional culture. Because we believe that
the good of a group is always greater than (always takes precedence over) that of an individual. My parents
generation live in a down-to-earth manner. They worked in the same company until
they retired, and they never thought about changing their jobs for better
salaries. They are loyal and tolerant. The young generation is so different.
They are brought up with the same values taught to them, but they don't listen, because they can't
understand and they need to think about it clearly by themselves. They see themselves
as the first priority in their lives, they are more creative and brave to
express themselves. Cultural values passed down from generation to generation can be changed and evolved over time, I think it is
interesting.
