The cartoons above demonstrate two distinctly different attitudes towards reading books. In the left picture, a boy is cosily lying in an armchair, admiring the fully-loaded bookshelf in front of him and is satisfied with the volume of books he possesses. While in the right picture, a boy is sitting behind a desk and making a goal to finish reading 20 books this year. The caption below the illustrations reads," Possessing Books and Reading Books." This cartoon is designed to help those people who owns lots of books but rarely read realize their misconception and develop a correct attitude. Merely having a large amount of books can do nothing but display these books as decorations ond satisfying their vanity. Only through reading can we covibrate with the characters in the books and transform the external books into our intrinsic intelligence which will be our true treasure that can't be deprived. Even though interior knowledge is invisible and can't be shown off as the grand bookshelves, it would show its power through our speehes ard behavior, help us in every aspects in our lives. In conclusion, books' value can only be realized by reading instead of possession. We ought to cultivate a reading habit and maximize the use of book value.

While in the right picture, a boy is sitting behind a desk and making a goal to finish reading 20 books this year. The caption below the illustrations reads," Possessing Books and Reading Books." This cartoon is designed to help those people who enjoy owning lots of books but rarely read, to realize their misconception and develop a correct attitude. There is no point in people having a large number of books but doing nothing but displaying them as decorations and using them to satisfy their vanity. Only through reading can we empathise with the characters in the books and transform the books into our internal knowledge which will be our true treasure that can't be taken away. Even though this interior knowledge is invisible and can't be shown off on grand bookshelves, it will show its power through our speech and behaviour and help us in every aspect of our lives. In conclusion, the value of books can only be realized by reading rather than mere possession. We ought to cultivate a reading habit and maximize their value.
