That's a good joke, but I suspect that you know better. The aleph is not useless; it represents a glottal stop, and it must be pronounced as such.
Here's a comparison of use of the glottal stop in English: An action contrary to law is ILLEGAL. A sick bird of prey is an ILL EAGLE. The second expression requires a glottal stop before the word "eagle" to distinguish the expression from "illegal."
