A problem “raised/arose/rose/aroused”?
Language problems _____ when families moved to live in other countries.
I chose “raise”,and I think “number would rise” “sun arises” “sense arouses”,could you confirm if above are correct?Thank you so much!

Language problems arose.
For one thing it would have to be in the past tense.
Normally the Sun rises. Arose could be used perhaps in a poetic sense but it would not be the normal way of saying it.
Around as a different meaning entirely. The trumpet aroused the sleeping population

It cannot be "raise(d)" as that verb is always transitive. "Rise / rose" simply means to go / come up (like the sun). The correct word, "arise / arose" is defined as: (of a problem, opportunity, or situation) emerge; become apparent.
