Are the sentences correct?
A goat is good at climbing
A dog is good at smelling.
They don't sound very natural though. 😐

I would remove the article and refer to the animals as plural because these are general statements so you don't need the article.
For example - Goats are good at climbing and dogs are good at smelling.
