It’s overcast today. At noon, Mom barely touched her lunch and seemed deeply uneasy. Ever since Dad scheduled a medical checkup for her, combined with everything that’s happened lately, she’s been stressed. Now I finally understand why they’d discussed constipation so gravely before. I used to find it funny, but not anymore. Constipation was the only symptom MeeMaw had at first, and then… somehow, things spiraled beyond control. It hit me! Not all constipation is just hemorrhoids! Now, Mom’s been dealing with occasional constipation too, and she’s terrified about this checkup.
