Today was a really fun day. I talked about lots of things with friends I hadn’t seen in ages. I’ve got an early class tomorrow as well, so I want to go to bed early and do my best!
Instead of “various things,” try using “lots of things” or “a bunch of things” – it sounds more natural in everyday English. Also, “in ages” is a common British expression meaning “in a long time.”
