No, if you've said something ridiculous, then it's only right that everyone gives you a thumbs down!

Well,  in here this is the only possible way of marking incorrect answers. Many people correct notebook entries or reply to questions. Sometimes they are wrong. With few possible answers marking wrong ones with "thumb down" will help. So I don't see this as cowardice. But when people do it only because they don't like your opinion that's really low. 

Well I sometimes vote-down when I think some things are not written by people that really want to learn a language. If you're constantly going off topic and you are here because you are lonely or you want to express your political or religious views without actually being interested in studying. Sorry, but it is a language site, after all.

And what about letting me know about it. I mean,  to write why someone is disagree with me. Maybe I should change my mind?
