If anyone in Mainland China wants to access Google, You tube, One Drive, etc. you need to use VPN.
For a few times I have been asked do I use VPN, how many Chinese use VPN and why I can’t access these webs without VPN. Yes, sometimes I use VPN to explore the outside world. I suppose there’re some using VPN, but I really don’t know the number.
I know in this world only a few countries block them, and I also find it’s almost impossible for people from other countries to not use VPN in Mainland China. However, sometimes VPN can’t work! Luckily we can still use Skype without VPN now. Hopefully in the future, we can visit these websites without VPN.
In your country, do you need to use VPN? Would you think this is a big problem when you need to use VPN to make these webs accessible? Any ideas are welcomed here as I’m trying to be open-minded.
FYI, anyone who wants to visit Mainland China should better get a VPN.
italki is a Chinese company, it's not going to be blocked in China, don't worry. (Censored, maybe).
Use this to see what's blocked: http://www.blockedinchina.net/
I don't really see how VPN helps download illegal stuff; anyway the solution is not to download illegal stuff, unless your government considers news etc illegal.

---> perhaps nowadays on Earth, only NK(North Korea) has more stringent censorship than China. To the best of my knowledge, I have no clue what countries are still limiting their internet to their citizens except NK and China. Or maybe several underdeveloped countries.....
