British sarcasm
A couple of examples for you:
EXAMPLE ONE
I come in from outside, dripping wet and soaked to the skin, with my hair all stuck to my face. You can hear rain and thunder in the background.
Someone says to you "Is it raining outside?"
Remember the saying about "Ask a stupid question....."
You reply: "No! Its bright sunshine mate, I've just been sunbathing!"
It is obvious to both you and the person originally asking the question, that this is not actually the case. You have just said it to make him realise how stupid his question was.
EXAMPLE TWO
You come downstairs dressed in running shorts, a running vest and trainers (sneakers to our USA cousins). Someone asks:
"Are you going running?"
You reply
"No i'm visiting the Queen!"
It is obvious that you are going running. "Ask a stupid question...."

That is really funny:) Sometimes sarcasm takes the form of a joke and I think in most of the comedy show, sarcasm plays an important role to make people laugh out loud because it contains some logical but absurd statements which really trigger us to laugh:):)

Hello, Dave! It was funny, but you know, sometimes sarcasm may get backfired. Here is a real short story about my brother's sarcasm.
A phone rings.
My brother: allo
On the other side of the line: hello. Is it a cinema?
My sarcastic brother: no. This is a nuthous!
On the other side: really?! Am I talking with a lunatic?
Russian sarcasm always gets backfired, Dave))
