Google Translate ,leads or misleads ? I have had bad experience with google translate .It is ridiculous ,I typed messy eater and it translated to a dirty food in my language .I had to check in google for the answer .I love google but not her multilingual kid!!! Do you have similar problems ?

It works very well with similar languages..when I translate from Russian to Polish, Google translates in 99% correct or from English to Norwegian. Languages are very alike and Google easily translates those things. But when languages very different, cases, genders or verbs conjugations..English and Russian, or ..it sounds very funny and strange..or doesn't make any sense.

Yes, I understand you, some translates are quite ridiculous.

My suggest is to use native tools, like The Oxford Dictionary. It doesn't translate, but it shows the possibles context to use and examples, it's very useful.

It misleads a lot and I don't depend on it anymore

It's terrible translator

When I'm not actually using Google translate for practical purposes as a helpful tool, I like playing around with it and laughing at some of its stupid results.

I have to agree with Sarah. If the languages are somewhat similar than it shouldn't be too far off. Of course if the languages are polar opposite there will definitely be some discrepancies.
