Vadim M.
Why everyone ingnores my messages and friend requests?

Hello everyone. I try to find language partners. But each partner who I've sent message or friend request to didn't answer me. Not in 1 minutes, not in 5 minutes, not in an hour, not in a day. Where did I make a mistake?

Thank you in advance

P. S. When I was speaking about language partners, I mean, that I try to find English native Speakers (I learn English), who learn Russian (it's my Native Language).

If I might provide a different perspective, there's a lot of people on this website (specifically men) who try to treat this like a dating site. A lot of times, when I get messages, I get worried that the person messaging me is a creep who's more interested in dating than actually learning a language. I would suggest looking on the language exchange partner part of this website, since those are people who, like you, are looking for someone to practice languages with.

Vadim, if you send friend requests or messages to native English-speakers, there is little chance that they answer. It's not about you making "mistakes", it's all about Supply and Demand. In fact, there are a lot of people all over the wolrd wanting to practice English with native speakers, but there are much fewer of them who feel the need of learning a foreign language. If they are overwhelmed by the number of messages received, they won't even bother to answer. It's quite understandable.

Maybe you should try to practice with fellow learners. It should be easier to find those on italki.

Hi Vadim, I only answer back if somone has taken the time to add a profile. Tell me a little about your goals, hobbies, sports anything really. But to leave it blank makes me think someone is not that setious.

Is that a passport photo?  From a driver's license?  I am sure you can find something more natural, you look a little stern and forbidding  in that photo

I personally hesitate to respond to those who:

▪Don't have a profile picture
▪Don't have a description in their profile
▪Only say "hi"
▪Message me multiple times

I've had encounters with scammers and creeps, so I've become cautious now. As mentioned, tell people about yourself and don't just message anyone. Find natives who are also learning your language.
