I would like to write something in my notebook but I really have no idea what could I write about. Have you got any good idea for me?

Dan, what has translating a quote or a phrase from one language to another have to do with Adam's request? Being able to translate into/from a language and write in this language are two very different things. Unless one is going to become a translator, I advise against translating when learning a new language. Even when looking words up in the dictionary, it's better to look them up in an English-English dictionary (assuming the learner is at least Intermediate of course) rather than just google the translation. Trying to translate as little as possible, especially in your head, is much more effective for language learning.

Take something short and famous in Polish and translate it into English.

Some examples could be a saying, a phrase, a proverb, a children's song or poem, a line from a famous speech, some other famous quotation, or a famous first line from a book.

I suggest that you write about your dailies and the most impressive things that you experience everyday.

You could write about the current situation of teachers in Poland :)

Troglodyte,

Writing and speaking are intertwined. In fact, writing is like speaking, just... written (ok, not literally, but you can think of it as a monologue). It's not helpful to translate when speaking and not helpful to do so when writing something. I don't think that watching a movie and translating the lines mentally into your mother tongue is helpful, and neither is translating when writing. That's my opinion.

(Also, I don't know who downvoted your comment, I just upvoted it to keep the balance.)
