I received the following message from italki Support regarding my suggestion to post Miriam's New italki Member Guide:
"I have reported your feedback and suggestion to our product team and community team, they will consider how to optimize this part base on your suggestion."
Thank you Val for your support.
I gave you an upvote, but someone downvoted everything in this discussion.
To the person who downvoted everything:
Thank you so much for your positive contribution to italki...
Now, why don't you go dig a hole then fill it up again...
that would be more positive and productive than downvoting
Thanks for supporting my discussion. It's unfortunate that not everyone thinks that a guide for newcomers is a good idea, but like always, it's best to not take downvotes personally and just ignore them.
Today I submitted the comment/suggestion about posting Miriam's New Member Guide.
I hope others of you will do the same.
Hi Richard
I did send the message as you said but I think majority of beginners will not use or see it unless italki makes its app or website more interactive than this. For example there should be regular exams for language learners in order to push them to stick to their lessens and be obliged to participate in discussions. Those who do not post valuable and educational discussion get down-voted or negative scores and vice versa. And those like you and Miriam who are working to improve the community get some kind of score or positive feedback.
