Would you share with us which foreign language(s) you are learning now? What less-well-known language do you think will attract a surprising number of foreign language learners in 2019?

I study many languages, like Persian, Xhosa, and Vietnamese at the moment because it's so much fun to learn a new one, and where I live there are people from all over the world so I get a chance to impress them :)

I find languages don't interfere with each other too much unless they are quite similar, like Spanish and Italian. Then it's very hard work to keep up the ability to speak both of them, the one I studied most recently seems to come out of my mouth automatically.

I hope maybe Basque/Euskera or Catalan will be popular this year because I want them to preserve their identity.

Mines are fairly mainstream! - English and German. They are compulsory in my career, so I have no option. If I owned my whole free time, I would devote myself to the study the Irish, Russian, Chinese or Japanese languages the most, I guess. English is very useful, though - and I really enjoy it.

Regarding your other question, I think that the states of affairs will remain the same. There is no reason why they should change. Japanese and Korean languages will be still the most popular, I expect.

@seand645: the Basque language is not dying anymore, they are doing a great job for that. I live in the Basque Country, and I can tell you that it is reemerging. Most young people course their studies entirely in Euskera, so every year more and more people are able to speak it.

I'm currently learning Russian and Arabic. I'm also learning Spanish but I'm putting it on the side right now because it's the easiest among the 3 languages that I'm studying

What less known language would attract language learners this year? Interesting question. Perhaps Polish or Czech? It really depends on people's preference(s)

Ariana, it is intetrsting to see someone who is studying three lanugage at the sametime. I would to know how do you with all new vocabulary that you are supplied by each language. On the other hand, when speaking or practicing one language; are you confused or mixed the different words of different languages.
