what is the difference between này and đây, and kia and đó/đấy?
I get that này and đây mean "this" but what are they used for?
Example: đây là quyển sách (this book is good).
Example: quyển sách này tốt (this book is good)
---also whats the difference between tốt and hay?
I understand that kia, đó, and đấy all mean "that" but when are they all used?
Example: đây là quyển sách (this book is good).

đây là quyển sách does not mean "this book is good." It means "this is a book, or here is the book"
đây usually means here (location), as in you live here, come here, etc.
tốt means good, but usually morally good, as in he is a good man.
hay also means good, but different, as in the book is good (quyển sách này hay).
Confused? Me too.

Example: đây là quyển sách (this book is good). => This is a book.
Đây = This: subject
Example: quyển sách này tốt (this book is good) => This book is good.
Này = This: demonstrative adjective

" This" means "đây" but " đây" not only means "this" . "Đây" also can mean " here", "i" . And "that" has the same idea as "this". That can mean " there" , "you" . It depends on context or your location.

"Đây" và "đó" khác nhau trong hoàn cảnh, ý nghĩa sử dụng:
"Đây" sử dụng khi nói đến sự vật diễn ra trước mắt người nói và người nghe. Người nghe có thể nhìn thấy. Ví dụ như: Đây là quyển sách "vô cùng tàn nhẫn vô cùng yêu thương". Quyển sách rất hay về cách giáo dục con cái.
"Đó" sử dụng khi nói đến sự vật, sự việc mà người nghe có thể hình dung ra nhưng không nhìn thấy trực tiếp. Ví dụ như: Tôi rất thích quyển sách "vô cùng tàn nhẫn vô cùng yêu thương". Đó là quyển sách rất hay nói về cách giáo dục con cái.

“Tốt” and “hay”.
They both generally mean “good”, but there is some differences when we use them to describe someone or something.
We often use “tốt” when we want to describe someone that is kind or good-hearted; When you say “something is [tốt]”, you may want to refer to its high quality.
We use “hay” when we want to describe someone or something that is interesting or attractive.
There are still some other differences but I am trying to say about it in English. Maybe next comment.
