Would you rather be rich and monolingual or poor and multilingual? Being rich, you’d be able to travel more. Yet the ability to talk to others would be greatly diminished. Obviously we live in a world where being rich and multilingual is possible but I thought these are interesting hypothetical scenarios to choose from.
