I would like to speak French but I long to be perfect in English?

My mother tongue is Spanish, and I think that I am an intermediate english speaker. I love to learn languages, but I am not sure if I should study French at the same time as I am improving my english performance. What Do you think? Are you studying 2 languages at the same time? I don´t know anything about French. How Should I start with French? Tell me your experiences and Point of Views. My main goals on learning languages are communications effectively with other people especially listening and speaking. I don´t care about international test or scores.

Hello there,

I think it's a matter of time and preference. For me, I prefer to learn one language at a time because I can spend more time to study it. I also prefer that because there's a lot of similar vocabulary in different languages that doesn't have the same meaning and spelling.

I personally use the ASSIMIL method when I start to learn a language. It's quite simple and easy to follow.

***Graded readers, parallel texts are also very good resources to learn a language.

Have fun!
