betweem UK and China is 8 hours.

it doesn't matter in terms of chat (over messages on italki, WeChat ,SMS and etc.)

For calls and video calls ... when you talk about time ,then you  specify timezone (for examle 15.00 UK time etc.).

For example If i talking with Chinese friends I used chinese time zone... (but i still add 15.00 Beijing time )
