When you learn a foreign language, what techniques do you like to help you master different materials more?
For me, I am more of a listening first than writing person. For example I enjoy watching movies in spanish and french, and listening to audio in russian (I am not at the level to watch a movie in russian yet). I hate workbook exercises because sometimes they only cover the basics and don't thoroughly explain the material.
What about you?

i recommend ororo.com it's a good website for watch all series or films
I have really enjoyed using duolingo.com. Its program is based on various learning styles which is helpful since there are a variety of them.
I love memrise it is really helpful for learning concepts and vocabulary. @AnthonyNewJersey
I'm with you Alex. I listen to recordings and do Memrise and Anki. Then use the books as a test to build and confirm the knowledge.
What I do is different for each language.
