" As to me" or "As fot me"?

Reading books I always face two variants of writing this construction - "as to me" and "as for me". I know the translation, it may be - "in my opinion" but it is used so often, especially in Russia. Are there any differences between these two constructions? And could you give me any synonyms of these ones?

I've never used "as to me" nor have I ever heard anyone use it.  Might be a European thing.

"As to me" doesn't have the same meaning -- it means "as far as what is going to happen to me in the future." I agree with the British contributors that the expression is not really typical enough to warrant your practicing it at this point.

'As to me' sounds very strange to me. I would use 'as for me' every time. I searched for 'as to me' on the Internet and it seems to be an archaic phrase, it came up with a Walt Whitman quote and he was a writer in the 19th century. I have never seen or heard a native speaker use 'as to me' either, like Dave and I am from the UK, not North America.
