How do you learn vocabulary? I have spent a lot of years of my life learning English because in my country is obligatory to study this language. It is necessary to study the language from Elementary School until University, but you do not always do it in the most proper way. Most of the time is dedicated to the grammar aspect, so the speaking skills are not developed in the best way because there are a lot of students in the classroom and little time. Another aspect who is neglected is vocabulary acquisition; not only for the teachers but for the students too. In the lasts couples of months, I have been trying to acquire the vocabulary that I did not acquire in the past because of my lack of awareness about what was necessary to do to improve my English skills. To memorize is not difficult for me, I think I have a good memory, but to choose what is the most adequate form to learn vocabulary has been hard. I lost a lot of time trying to decide between learning singles words or words on context. Currently, I use different tools: - An app to find words according to the topic and the level; beginner, intermediate or advanced. - A dictionary to search sentences and learn the words on context. - Anki to remember the words, the Spaced Repetition System made the learning process easier. It takes me a lot of time and energy to learn vocabulary, but I think it is more effective in the long-term. How do you learn vocabulary?
