Boy meets girl One thing I really surprise how diferent culture is about relationship. My friends in Malaysia, who are muslim in they're 20's, they're interested to date with girls of course, but I heard, in some rulal area, if boy and girl, who are not marry yet or engage, if they holding hands, or in one room by themselves alone, sometimes police came and asked how they're relationship is. On the other hand, in Canada, I saw my friends have relationships more casually when they're single. I don't know which are happier, I mean, to be grow up in strict society, and find one person, marry, and live with the person forever, or when they're young, you have many relationships, then choose one person and live with the person forever..? What do you think?

Boy meets girl

One thing that really surprises me is how different cultures are about relationships.
My friends in Malaysia, who are Muslim in they're 20's, they're interested in dating girls of course, but I heard, in some rulal areas, if boy and girl who are not yet married or engaged are seen holding hands, or in one room by themselves alone, sometimes police come and ask what their relationship is.
On the other hand, in Canada, I saw my friends have relationships more casually when they're single.

I don't know which are happier. I mean, to be grow up in a strict society, and find one person, marry, and live with the person forever, or when they're young, to have many relationships, then choose one person and live with the person forever..?
What do you think?

[Good point. Some corrections with complicated phrases. As for my opinion, much of how happy you are depends on how you fit in to the society of which you are a part. I like the Canadian way, but that is because I was raised in the west.]

Hai. I was a muslim girl and live at malaysia. For me its depend on how your self into this matter. Islam is such a wondeful religion. Its teach you to love someone who are really be with you until death. Accept you the way you are. My religion teach me to give a love when the time is coming. (Means in this case -married) but islam never prohibited for us to make a friend. But there is a limitation. As you said holding a hands with boy and doing like hug , kiss is forbidden in islam if you are dont have any relationship with his/her. But our people is just like never borther about this. Huhu . So its actually come back to your self.. Your environment and how you been educate.

How is it in Japan? Of course it's up to people, but generally speaking, I think we're more close to Canada, but it's more slow and not that open. I mean, to have romantic relationship, it takes more time, and we don't introduce boyfriend/ girlfriend for our parents before we seriously think about marrige, etc.

It's a good question, but the answer is easy: "Just do what makes you feel happy", I know there's a lot different cultures, but if you really loves someone, so you should marry with her/him, because it isn't a game for you. About to be touched before marry...I think it is complicated to say it is wrong or right...it depends of how it's seen in your culture or how your parents learned you about....

How is it in Japan? Well. of course it's up to people, but generally speaking, we're more likely to Canada. But compare to Canada, it's more slow, and not so open. So for example, when I hear my friend, married said, " My ex-boyfriend is..." in front of her husband casually, or when I see people how quickly they become couple, I feel bit surprise.
