However, Personal I tend to agree that they in a sense are worth being well paid with several reasons I elaborate below. To begin with, not all entertainers earn big money, but only those who are the very best in the field. This is to say, besides of their talents they need tremendous hard work and make many sacrifices to achieve their accomplishments. For instance, professional athletes, they often travel around countries and being away from their family or social life. Everyday, they have very strict workout schedules and diets as their jobs are hard on their bodies. Many athletes who suffer from injuries could possibly lose their jobs or even threaten lives. We also know that athletes’ career life span is shorter than other professions. Normally they retire at 35 years old while other professionals can continue working until 60 years old, so we can understand why they devote themselves so much to such short careers with sweating, bleeding and crying. Further more, star entertainers contribute greatly to the economy as well. When having a major sport event or other performance, it stimulates other businesses too, like hotel, restaurant, consuming commercial products etc… which eventually generate huge revenue to its country. In addition, wealthy star entertainers also do charities. You may often hear that they donate millions in funds to set up foundations for special need or give the money to help people living in poverty. In most of case, I believe they are generous and compassionate public Citizens. Admittedly, the other occupations like scientists, doctors or teachers are very essential to the society too and they make great contribution to human by saving lives, creating invention or educating children, our future. From my opinion, they are all deserved to be well paid. Nevertheless, it doesn’t mean that star entertainers are less valuable. They deserve to earn significantly as they fully dedicate to their career with presenting best performance to impress audiences. In fact, it is also their nation’s pride and honor if they earn the reputation or being a world champion.
