The Philippines is the most-exposed large country in the world to tropical cyclones, and  it  this  has  even  affected settlement patterns in the northern islands; for example, the eastern coast of Luzon is very sparsely populated.

The following is how a native English speaker would make the same statement:

The Phillippines is more exposed to tropical cyclones than any other large country.
