Hello ploy, it seems I need to explain it: The biggest living creature in the world is a mushroom. The biggest one of them has been found in Oregon. (It’s called “Armillaria“, if you want to google it.) Its roots are spread over an area of 880 hectares and its weight is about 600 metric tons.

a confused joke

"What's room is the biggest room in the world? ""Mushroom."Why is this a joke? Where is the laughing point?

It is a silly childish corny joke, a kind of pun, or play on words - actually a play on word-sound.  It is the sort of 'joke' told too and repeated by very young children.

the two syllables of Mushroom Mush + room - Mush sounds like 'Much' as it might be spoken by a child with a lisp perhaps, or slight speech impediment.

There is a whole genre of such jokes, such as 'knock knock' jokes - the funniest thing about them is they are so painfully silly, and the only reason to laugh is when you realise just how silly they are.

This joke’s made me smile. Just one hint: Think of their roots.

I agree - this joke doesn't make any sense to a native English speaker.

I'm not sure but I would say in some sloppy english slangs you pronounce it as "mutch" room. By the way, another answer to that joke is "the room for improvement" which makes more sense I guess.
