部 首

今 天 我 学 习 过 部 首

Today I studied the radicals.

Yes, the radicals are the keys to Chinese characters.  Like western languages, once you know the root words, everthing falls into place.  If you know the radicals you will understand some of the basic Chinese philosophy, culture and traditions.

Do you know why the following are composed as such? 如 (if) 姦 (originally means gossip), 奸 (evil), 媚 (sexy), 好 (good), 婦 (wife), 妙 (wonderful, mysterious)...

每 (every), 海 (ocean, sea), 漠 (dessert)

休 (rest) 仁 (compassion)伏 (submit)

Once you are well versed in the radicals, you will start to see things very differently.
