MY FIRST JERBO: JUMPY (Part I) Probably you are wondering what is a Jerbo... Well, I'll explain you what it is. A Jerbo is an animal, originally from the desert areas of Asia, mainly from Mongolia or China. It's an herbivorous rodent, similar to a rat or a hamster. It's small, with a long tail, and it stands up only with the hind paws. The Jerbos walk doing small jumps, it's kinda funny. They are active along the day and it's easy to take care of them , it's like taking care of a hamster. * * * Four years ago, my parents let me have one. I called him Jumpy. I was so happy because my parents never let me have any pet in the house, and Jumpy was the first one. I took care of him very well: I cleaned his cage every week, I put him food and water (and also fruit and snacks), I played every day with him. Sometimes I let him free during a morning or afternoon on our patio, thus he could run. One day, a friend of mine came to my house. We came outside to the patio and... (I don't know why, but I remember this scene in slow-motion) Jumpy was running to us, and when I looked back to see if my friend was following me I saw Jumpy right under her foot, going to got tread. I exclaimed "Watch out!" ...too late. My lovely and charming Jumpy... was no more Jumpy. I began to cry a lot. My friend didn't believe what just happened, he felt so sorry about it: "Roger I'm so sorry, I didn't do it on purpose, I... I'll buy you another one... or two." Me: "Don't worry Pau, you don't have to do anything, I know it's not your fault, but... if you can go please, I repeat it's not your fault and I forgive you, truly. We'll meet on Monday at school, okay?" And this way Jumpy ended his 10 months life. Jerbos has an average of 4 years life. > To be continued... Thanks for correcting it! (And don't cry for Jumpy, surely he's in a good place now)

I noticed no one corrected the first part. "Probably you are wondering what is a Jerbo" it should say "You are probably wondering what a Jerbo is..."

Four years ago, my parents let me have one. I called him Jumpy. I was so happy because my parents never let me have any pets in the house, and Jumpy was the first one.

I took care of him very well: I cleaned his cage every week, I put gave him food (as a new Spanish student myself I find it interesting that `poner` is used for ordering food :) and water (and also fruit and snacks), I played every day with him I played with him everyday. One day, a friend of mine came to my house. We came outside to the patio and... I exclaimed "Watch out!" ...but it was too late. My lovely and charming Jumpy... was no more Jumpy.

I began to cry a lot. My friend didn't believe what just happened, he felt (run-on sentence . I'd end with a period or join the two with and) so sorry about it: "Roger I'm so sorry, I didn't do it on purpose, I... I'll buy you another one... or two." Me: "Don't worry Pau, you don't have to do
