It means in a negotiation you must have a lot of requests/demands so you could at least get some of them
Iit: in a negotiation you take (ask for) death so (he/she) acquiesce to fever (agreed with having fever)

imagine , if u ask for ur real demands they will not agree .
but u ask for much more and then they will agree with a less amount of what u asked which is ur real demand .
it means they will fear u of death so u will be pleased with a fever .

It means you ask your partner a very demanding task so that s/he eventually agrees with the less difficult task, it's a kind of politics, you don't show your partner your real range of request.
