In this article, “the ways we lie”, Ericsson tells us (‘who’ does she tell? The readers? The audience? You need ‘who’) about the many ways people lie and explains the reasons for doing it. In her article she describes the different lies most people do every day. First, she explains the white lie. The white lie is telling a harmless lie instead of the truth. The second kind/ type of lie is facades (‘second ways’ = is incorrect, because ‘second’ is a ‘listing’ word, and ‘ways’ is plural, implying one than ‘one way’ so the two can’t be friends ;). Facades are described as putting on another face or making people believe something that you not. These are bad because they seduce others into an illusion and make you look and feel like something you are not. Next, she talks about another type (“anothers typos” = is incorrect for two reasons; A) anothers = cannot be plural as ‘another’ implies ‘one more thing’. B) typos = is an actual word, in English you make a typo when you spell something incorrectly when typing something into a word document or texting someone = “Sorry I made a typo”) of lie, (‘s = is not needed because you are only talking about ‘one specific lie in this sentence) such as ignoring the plain facts and deflecting are similar because both involve not addressing important facts in an answer. Then, she talks about omissions, which is purposely leaving pieces of information out of an answer or not answering at all. Also, she talks about, Stereotypes and group think are very similar in the sense that they both create lies based on a group’s actions or feelings. Finally, she talks about an out-and-out-lie as a straight forward lie.
**If you wanted to keep the original sentence then you could say = “The second way to lie is using facades”.
**”I don’t know what ‘groupthink’ is, if you can explain it another way I can correct that sentence.
Hopefully this is helpful. If you have any questions feel free to ask me :)
