My son's development milstones On this lovely Friday morning, we drew with crayons. To be honest, I was drawing, while Igor was watching me drawing. As I am terrible at it, I didn't make an attempt to draw animals, birds or insects. Just lines. And I was making comments on the process: "This is the curly line", "This is the zigzag line". Igor loved the word "zigzag" so much, that he had been asking me to draw a zigzag line for a half an hour. Later, in the evening, when Dad came back from work Igor Dashed to him keeping asking him the same request. And he named the colour of the crayon - green. It was a significant feat for a 1,5-year boy. Then, we made a craft from a salty dough. We mad an owl and dried it out. And Igor learned two new words: "dough" and "swap". He roared and tried to take my piece of dough and I told him that he can use the world swap - and he did it! Afterwards, he has been using this word to exchange toys and crayons with me. I hope, he will apply this word at the playground too.

My son's development milstones

On this lovely Friday morning, we drew with crayons. To be honest, I was drawing, while Igor was watching me drawing. As I am terrible at it, I didn't make an attempt to draw animals, birds or insects. Just lines. And I was making comments on the process: "This is the curly line,(запятая inside quotation marks)" "This is the zigzag line". Igor loved the word "zigzag" so much, that he had been asking me to draw a zigzag line for a half an hour. Later, in the evening, when Dad came back from work, Igor Dashed to him keeping asking him over and over the same request. And he named the colour of the crayon - green. It was a significant feat for a 1.5 year old boy.
Then, we made a craft from a salty dough. We made an owl and dried it out. And Igor learned two new words: "dough" and "swap". He roared and tried to take my piece of dough, and I told him that he can use the world swap - and he did it! Afterwards, he has been using this word to exchange toys and crayons with me. I hope, he will apply this word at the playground too.

Just some punctuation mistakes. Everything else is written flawlessly!

Some guidelines:

A comma is needed between two independent clauses - complete statements connected by and, or, for, but, yet

He roared and tried to take my piece of dough, and I told him that he can use the world swap - and he did it!

Just be careful to only do so when it breaks two self-contained statements. And/or do not always require a comma.

Rules for subordinate clauses are a little different. These are identifiable by their keywords: after, then, because, when etc. this is very similar to Russian I think: после, как, когда, и т.д.

If a subordinate clause begins a sentence put a comma after it. If it comes after the independent clause you do not need to put a comma.

For example

To be honest, I was drawing while Igor was watching me drawing

Наоборот

While Igor only watched me draw, I did the actual drawing.

And lastly, commas will always go inside quotation marks in English.
