It's funny. Something similar happened to me, but instead of a pothole it was a branch. My friends and I went to the coast on vacations. The hotel we booked had no road leading there, and the only way to arrive was through the beach. So we literally had to drive the car on the slightly wet sand part of the beach, because if we had driven on the dry sand the car would have stuck. The thing was that there were a lot of logs and branches we couldn't avoid, so the next morning the tire was flat. Fortunately, my friend had bought this foam that hardens when you inject it into the tire, so even although the tire didn't have the optimal pressure it was enough to look up for a mechanic. It wasn't that funny when it happened, but now I just laugh a lot about it.
