輔導教師Faroese is the language of the Faroe Islands and my native language. It's spoken by less than 100,000 people and is more similar to what was spoken in Denmark and Norway more than half a millenia ago than what is spoken in those countries today.
The written language of Faroese is only a little over 100 years old. This means that the spoken language has retained much of its pre-written pronunciation and it sort of feels like an "old" language.
I tutor Faroese as the only one here in italki. Feel free to ask me if you have questions about the language and if you are interested, you can also book a trial lesson to get a sense of what was spoken in the old north.
My question: Did you hear about Faroese before and if so, when and where?

Yes - my beautiful Faroese girlfriend whom I met last year. I visited the country this Summer and I fell in love with it :)
