1. I want to recall his face, but I can’t. It’s been about a year since I last saw him. 2. I couldn’t remember the details of the letter, but she could. When she repeated some of the words from it, she burst into tears. 3. As far as I can remember, she was a beautiful girl back then. But now, she’s an exhausted housewife, her bright eyes long gone. 4. I don’t remember what he said. I just recall that he was very angry at the time and scolded me. 5. I remember him warning me that it was dangerous, but I just wanted to have fun, so I opened the box anyway. 6. “It was just before I turned thirty. Back then, I was beautiful and free. Now, my life feels like a nightmare,” she recalled.
To sound more fluent, vary your word choices. For example, use "recall" or "remember" instead of "recollect," as it’s more commonly used in conversational English. Simplifying sentence structures also makes the text flow more naturally.

Is someone is TIRING, that means they cause other people to be tired. You've done a good job with RECOLLECT. It basically means the same thing as REMEMBER. FYI, REMEMBER is much more commonly used, but it's good to know RECOLLECT, and be able to use it when you want.
