If I had time for a trip, I'd go see my little island of Sardinia; it's so special for me because my dreams came true there. The quality of life is different from other regions. It takes a long time to reach the island, but it's worth it. When you get there, you can visit Garibaldi's house, a historic monument. The sea is exquisite; it looks just like the waters in the Maldives.
While the question was actually about time travel, such as travelling back to the 1500's, this was still a nice answer. Sardinia sounds lovely! I hope this was helpful!
