Neither of them make any sense. What are you trying to say.? How about: "Madness is a hypothesis ", suggested the the psychiatrist to his patient.

Madness is a hypothesis which is suppressed by the psychiatrist. Madness is a hypothesis suppressed by the psychiatrist. This one is right. "Set aside" is wrong.
