What's the difference between "parish church", "chapel" and "cathedral"
"Parish church", "chapel" and "cathedral" are gradually become bigger?

Not exactly. Yes, a cathedral is the largest of the three, very grand, huge. A parish church describes a standalone structure that would be quite humble, at least relatively. A chapel would also be small, perhaps even within another building. As far as size is concerned, I cannot necessarily distinguish between a parish church and a chapel.
