Do Americans change their clothes very frequently? Almost everyday?

What do you mean? Of course we do! I don't wear the same outfit everyday. By the way this isn't an "American thing". Anyone who has good hygiene showers regularly and changes their clothes.

Of course, this is NOT an attempt to insult Americans, is it. Some of us Americans change our clothes two or three times per day, depending on our activities. I saw an episode on 60 Minutes that said in France the people use only TWO bars of soap per YEAR. What's up with that?

As a cultural matter, I think it is fair to say that most Americans, especially 2nd+ generation Americans, change their clothes every day. There are some Americans who do not change clothes every day, due to a variety of reasons. One reason is because, if they are more recent immigrants, they may keep the same custom of their homeland and not change clothes every day. Another reason is that the American may not be able to afford a lot of different clothes or don't want to spend a lot of money on washing clothes, so they don't change every day. Other people can afford to change clothes, but may not do so because of their personal choice. But these are just some Americans. The vast majority of Americans change their clothes every day.
